'Tis the Season to Give

12/21/2012 01:34

Last Minute Gift Wrapping! Thank God for gift bags and tissue paper!

Today was our company potluck at work. Twinnie and I picked up some Krispy Kreme donuts for the party. On the way we were stravin' Marvin, and twinnie mentioned the Red Velvet donut, so we decided to pick up a couple for us to eat on the way. Eh..they did the job.It pretty much tasted like an ordinary frosted chocolate cake. : /

Anyhow, this time of the year is a special one for me because we get to give a little something something to our caregivers, who deserve so much more than just a bag of random things. They work so hard and often times don't get the recognition they deserve. This year my twinnie and I joined forces to try to make this years gift bag a decent one. Money is a bit tight on both ends (no pun intended). Lol. AnyBUTT...(oh dang, the husbands corniness is rubbing off on me!) This years gift bag included the following:

- 2013 mini calendar

- pen

- nail polish/hand sanitizer/lotion/lip gloss (depending on age appropriateness) LOL

- See's lollipop

- sample size Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream

- $5 gift card to Starbucks

- 2 mini candy canes (whoopty woo!)

This year has been a great year and I'm blessed to have been able to receive a nice bonus and beautiful gifts, but the best gift of all is the gift of being able to give.

Happy Holidays!

Company Christmas Party

12/21/2012 01:02

On the way to the restaurant, the hubby and I were famished...like burping bubbles kind of famished! Lol. Getting out of the car and walking towards the entrance of the restaurant, we were welcomed by several of my co-workers with a shot of whiskey and a beer! They don't mess around, man! Unfortunately for us, the restaurant lost their liqour license, hence, the warm welcome! Lol. Since my husband and I hadn't eaten and took the shot of whiskey and had a few swigs of beer, I felt that liqour run through my veins like...uhh...I don't know...haha! I would say drugs but I've never done drugs before in my life. Lol. Anyhow, I told my husband I felt a little funny and that I needed to have food in my tummy, stat. He straight shoved a unagi roll down my mouth, which I'm most appreciative of. Lmao!

We had a great time. My twinnie and her boyfriend came. She won Associate of the Month and won a T.V. in the raffle. : ) My honey and I won an Electrolux vaccum, which was much needed at the time as ours had just broken down. We prayed for the ipad mini or the camera, but happy we got the vaccum. Haha! No, seriously! Okay, okay, I was bummed...but honest to goodness appreciated the vaccum!

There wasn't much dancing this year and honestly, I think it was the abcense of our friend, Alcohol. Lol. We had a good time, nonetheless. : )

Photo Mis-haps Below...LOL

Jazrielle's 4th Birthday

12/21/2012 00:17

Happy 4th Birthday to my Jazrielle!

About a year ago we purchased a little Small Fry kitty cat named, Katty. We took her out with us to run a few errands and for dim sum. When we were close to home she realized Katty was gone. From that point on she looked for her talked about her as if she was pet near and dear to her heart. She randomly would speak about her saying things like,"mommy, I'm really woried about Katty. I know she crawled out the car window and she's lost." Tell me that wouldn't pull at your heart strings, man! Anyhow, my husband and I decided to get her another Katty. Unfortunately, she was discontinued. : ( So the day of her birthday we took her straight to Build a Bear and had her choose a new friend. She chose the funkiest looking one and named her Rose. : ) After choosing the new edition we walked around the mall and hit up Rain Forest Cafe. Jazzy loves that place because of the cool stuff they have in there.

Making our way to Build a Bear Workshop (below)

After working up an appetite, we headed over to Stone Oven. You guys have got to try their focaccia bread! It's completely and utterly an eyeball roller! Anyhow, after stuffing our faces we watched Wreck it Ralph. It was such an awesome movie. It's a movie for all ages...and Jazzy loved it. After watching Wreck it Ralph we walked around the mall some more then headed to Chuck E. Cheese to have some pizza. We also took some pics in the infamous sketch booth thingy majigger. : P

It was a great day... : ) We capped the night off with ice cream/boba from Boba Planet. : )

I'm so blessed to have such a beautiful family. Seeing my girls grow up is sad because they aren't little people anymore, but fulfilling to see them grow into such amazing individuals. Seeing them together like this...

...brings tears of joy to my eyes. Cheesy but oh so true. I'm blessed. : )

Little Jazzy's Starting Pre-K & Overprotective Mommy

11/04/2012 22:34

Our little baby's growing up! She's starting pre-k this Wednesday and I'm nervously excited. : / We've been trying to prep her by telling her that before she pretty much does anything,(using the restroom) she needs to let her teacher know. She picked up some bad habits from her daddy... (sorry, honey!) like farting out loud and laughting about it, spitting, etc. Lol. Things little girls really shouldn't be doing. She may just end up saying,

Jazzy: Miss So n So, may I be excused?

Teacher: Why, Jazrielle?

Jazzy: I need to fart

YIKES!!! Haha! We'll just pray for the best! Haha!

Overprotective Mommy

I'm not sure if all mommy's are like this, but I pray for my kids safety and protection at least 28 times a day. Whenever my older daughter goes to her dad's house, I worry...to the point where I can't really sleep. Not that I have any reason to worry while she's there, I just do. My husband laughs at me and I told him that when it comes to my girls, I'm the mama bear and they're my little cubs, and if anything or anyone tries to harm them the claws come out. Lol. No shame, man.

When my older daughter was in kindergarten, there was a little girl named Sabrina who bullied her. She would steal her snack and just be really mean. One day when I picked her up from school she told me that Sabrina punched her in the stomach. Oooh, girl! When I picked her up from school the following day, I pulled Sabrina aside and whispered to her, "Did you punch Jennalyn in the stomach? Don't even think about doing it again, because I WILLTALK TO YOUR MOM! I'm pretty sure she won't be happy to hear the things that I have to tell her!" I think she left her alone after that. I don't know...when I pray sometimes, I ask God, "Lord, do I over love my kids?" Lol. Sounds silly and I know there's no such thing, but I feel like I just have this anxiety...like, I'm scared they'll get hurt or something. When I pray I also tell God that if anything bad happens, just let it happen to me and not my kids. Lol. I know I sound crazy, but I just love my bebes!

Have a blessed one!

Happy Halloween!

10/31/2012 21:57

Trick or Treating at Westfield Shopping Center - West Covina

This is the first time in 2 years that I was off of work on Halloween. We either spent Halloween at my work or went to the mall too late...so late that there was absolutely no candy left! After picking Jen up from school we headed straight to the mall. It was good thing we got there when we did because it was early enought to get great parking and the mall wasn't too crowded. .

I thought I was at Universal Studios for a hot second when I asked Spiderman and Black Cat (whom I thought was Lady Gaga. LOL!) if it was okay for the girls to take a photo with them. Lol. I felt like such a tourist. : T After walking the entire mall twice we decided to call it quits for the moment and head over to the hubby's office, then went to have dinner at a Japanese restaurant nearby. After dinner we ended the night with Milk Tea boba from Tapioca Express. : )

I hope you all had a safe and funtastic Halloween!

Jazrielle waiting patiently to go trick or treating. : )

Zits & Things!

10/30/2012 02:42

Thirty something and still breaking out! Ugh...I hate it! My chin is burning from packing on the topical medication I slapped on there. I totally blame it on my make up brushes!

NOTE TO SELF:

Self, remember to clean your brushes at least once a week!

I thought about posting a picture of my break out, but...nah! Lol. Have a good one. : )

October 2012 Favorites

10/28/2012 21:38

Time's a flying! Halloween is coming up and here comes November! Just wanted to share a few of my favs this month. Hope you enjoy!

First fav for October has got to be my Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation and Healthy Balance Powder

This is a French brand and is sold in European drugstores. I heard about this brand through YouTube beauty gurus and heard really great things about it. It is available through a website called asos.com for about $20. It gives light to medium coverage and it smells amazing! It smells of apricots. : ) I've been using it this product most of the month and it hasn't made me break out! Yippee!!! Lol. The only downside to this product is that there is not a lot of shades to choose from. I believe the lightest shade is 51, which is a light vanilla color and the darkest is 56. Currently I am between shades 52 and 53. I originally purchased shade 53 (Beige Clair) which matched my skin perfectly, but noticed that the product oxidized. I recently purchased shades 52 (vanille) and it matches my skin tone perfectly after it has oxidized. I've also been loving the Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder in the shade Beige Clair as well. My face is a total grease ball and this powder seems to really keep it under control. It also has a light apricot fragrance...and honestly, I can't stop smelling it througout the day. Lol.

Next Fav is Revlon Colorstay Foundation in shade 310 Warm Golden

This foundation is my second fav to Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum . It gives medium coverage and has an SPF of 6. I know, not a whole lot of SPF but certainly better than nothing! I just apply additional oil free sunblock before I apply this foundation. I use this foundation when I want a little more coverage than the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum gives me. It doesn't smell as good as the healthy mix but I definitely like the medium coverage it gives. Oh and it doesn't make me break out! Woot woot! Lol. I heard about this product from my daughter. She tried it out...not that she even needs foundation, but she tried it out anyway. I saw that the coverage was pretty darn good so I purchased one myself. You can purchase this proudct pretty much anywhere, but I purchased mine at Target for $9.99. Again, very affordable! Before trying drugstore foundations, I used Laura Mercier, which I still love. Only thing is is that there aren't many shades to choose from. I always had to purchase 2 different shades because I was in between shades. Laura Mercier foundations also oxidized badly pretty badly and made me look a little gray. Revlon Colorstay foundations are pretty true to color. Try it out!

Maybelline Define-a-Brow

Love this product! I was just about to purchase MAC's lingering eyebrow pencil but decided to give this product a shot. I purchased this product from Target for $5.99 in the shade medium brown. I'm so happy I tried this before going to MAC! I love it! For forever long, I've been using MAC eye shadows for my brows in the shades Embark, Charcoal Brown, Brun, Mystery, and recently started using Omega.I mentioned somewhere on my website that my eyebrows have evolved and they're STILL evolving! Lol. A couple months ago I felt like I was having a hard time controlling how much powder I put on my brows and they really just started to look darker and darker! Ugh...I hated it! Then I tried this product and the Angels sang, "Ahhhhhhhhhh!" Lol. All I do is define my brows with this pencil and fill in a little more with MAC eye shadow in Omega! LOVE!!! Try it!

Wet n Wild Color Icon in Shade 335 Silent Treatment

I haven't been into Wet n Wild since...ever! Lol. I just remember my older sister using these products. Haha! It's all YouTube's fault that I had to purchase almost every palette Wet n Wild has! Pshhh! Lol. I love this trio, Silent Treatment. It's definitely become one of my "go-to" eye shadow pallettes since I've gotten it. These trios are $2.99, are you outta your mind?! I love these colors so much, you guys just have to try it...and if not this one, you have to try their other shades! My only gripe about the eye shadows is that they kind of powdery and cause a lot of fall out. Otherwise, they're very pigmented and oh so cheap! What more can you ask for?! I don't even know why I swatched this mofo on my hand when you can't even see the colors! Lol. I'm so tan right now...it's not even funny! Haha!

Anyhow, do like I've been doing and don't knock the drugstore brands, mang! Believe it or not, SOME, not all of these products have great quality! There's no way to find out unless you try! It excites me to know that I'm getting great products without a hefty price tag! Hope this was helpful!

Have a blessed one!

The Gang

10/28/2012 01:36

I haven't really blogged in a while and since I'm a bit wired on McDonald's new Iced French Vanilla Latte at the moment, I figured I'd babble for a little while. Lol. My family and I went to visit our beautiful friends and their brand new baby girl today out in Signal Hill. They have this cozy home perfect for the three of them! Their baby girl is 7, almost 8 weeks old and she's one of the cutest babies I've ever seen. She's got a full head of hair and of course super cute feet! Lol. (Sorry...I have a foot fetish). We were able to hang out and catch up with "the gang" as we like to call our group. : ) Our other friends is due to have their little girl the end of December to early January. They have 2 boys and finally are going to have their little girl. We're so excited for them. : ) Our other friends are engaged to be married and can't be happier for the both of them. : ) We had a feast! We had BBQ, creamed corn, potato salad, crab salad on french bread, artichoke dip with tortilla chips, hummus with pita chips! Yum! Unfortunately, we didn't take any photos...boo! We had a great time and it was really nice to see everyone.

Sleek Blush Palette

10/28/2012 01:07

So I'm not sure if I've mentioned this already I watch a whole lot of YouTube! Through YouTube I've become even more of a makeup feen! I've learned of great quality makeup but with awesome payoff. The past few months I've gotten into European brands such as Sleek Cosmetics, MUA (Makeup Academy), and Bourjois Cosmetics. A couple months ago I purchased the Sleek Blush Palettes in Lace and Sugar. Each palette is $12.49 and contain 3 blushes. Sleek is known for their sleek packaging, hence, the brand name ; ) and again, for their wide array of products with inexpensive price tags. They have products for lips, eyes, and face. The packaging looks and feels expensive! I believe all the palettes and single blushes have a mirror -- so convenient!

I tried my best to try to swatch the colors but my camera doesn't do them justice...and my hand is uberly tanned at the moment! LOL! Please check out the website: www.sleekmakeup.com  Shipping is reasonable! The only thing I wish they would do is accept PayPal. It would be so much more convenient. Anyhow, Back to the review! The colors look a little scary, I know, but when you actually wear them they're so pretty! My favorite from the Lace Palette (top left)  is Guipure. It is a shimmer blush with a rose gold color, which is the shade in the center. It's just so beautiful! My favorites from The Sugar Palette (top right)  are Muscovado (second) and Demerara (third). This palette is perfect for Fall! If you're looking for awesome & affordable makeup please visit the following websites: www.sleekcosmetics.com, www.muastore.co.uk, and www.asos.com

I think you'll love the shadows! I went crazy and bought practically all of them. Each iDivine eye shadow palette is ONLY $9.99!!! Dude, seriously? $9.99 with the quality of the product? You've got to be cray cray to not want to jump on that! So check out their website and have a ball!

Have Blessed one : )
